Inspiration
This little library is inspired by one of the first animations ever created : Le Praxinoscope by Charles-Émile Reynaud.

A praxinoscope is a simple animation device from the 1800s. It uses a spinning cylinder with images inside and mirrors to make the pictures appear as if they’re moving,  like an early form of a cartoon.

What is it?
The Praxinoscope Little Free Library transforms a regular little free library into an interactive, age-friendly experience. It’s designed for people of all ages and abilities and brings children’s artwork to life by turning it into animations.

Why was it created?
Today, we’re surrounded by constant distractions, and just placing a little free library in a neighborhood isn’t enough to get people to use it. This project adds an engaging element to draw attention, encouraging the community to visit, interact with, and care for their library.
