Reera Cultural Center is a space for everyone to connect through art, music, writing, painting, and creativity. It’s a place that welcomes all, and its location was carefully chosen in East Downtown, right next to Fort Calgary the place where  is considered the birthplace of the city of Calgary.

At the heart of the cultural center is a green area that connects the lower and upper levels. It’s positioned so that anyone entering the building encounters this garden first and must pass through it to reach other spaces. Calgary’s limited access to green spaces during winter makes this indoor garden a valuable place for people to experience nature any time of year.

The project is located in downtown Calgary’s East Village, right next to Fort Calgary. The idea is to create a connection between the people living in the city, Fort Calgary, and the area’s cultural history. The site is visible from both 9th Avenue and 6th Street. 6th Street is used for services because it’s easy to access. East Village is known for its culture and art, making it a great place for a cultural center.
